Membership Advantages

When you become a member, you’ll have a resource for information on important public policy issues that affect your future. Our meetings are open to all Democrats and provide a chance to interact and learn about political and legislative issues affecting you and the GLBT community. You will have the opportunity to meet periodically with elected officials and other political leaders, actively exchange ideas and perspectives, and educate them about the needs of our community. In addition, as a member, you will receive communications that provide you with up to date information on local, state and national issues affecting the GLBT community.

In addition to membership dues, the Caucus understands that members may wish to make voluntary contributions for specific purposes of personal interest and concern. As a result, the Board has created three designated funds to allow your direct donation for specific purposes which are critical to the mission of the Caucus. These are:

  1. the Campaign Fund, donations to which are RESTRICTED only to pay for direct election
    expenses and “get-out-the-vote” (GOTV) efforts;
  2. the Advocacy Fund, donations to which are RESTRICTED only to pay for direct expenses
    of legislative action, informing officials at all levels of government of our positions and
    concerns and education of the public on GLBT issues; and
  3. the Conference Fund, donations to which are RESTRICTED only to the Caucus Conferences
    to help defray costs and keep attendance affordable for members.

Members may also wish to consider donating to the General Operating Fund, the uses of which are UNRESTRICTED and available to overall administration, operations, and programs as determined and approved by the Board through the regular budgetary process.
