STATEMENT ON THE OCCASION OF INDEPENDENCE DAY JULY 4, 2012

Hello Caucus Members and Friends,

As we all celebrate America's birthday on this July 4, 2012,  the  anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, I want to re-affirm that we, the Florida GLBT Democratic Caucus, as the GLBT arm of the Florida Democratic Party, are committed to the values of freedom, opportunity and equality for all.

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness" - is a commitment to equality for all Americans, and we will not rest until these rights include gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Americans.

On behalf of Florida GLBT Democrats, I wish everyone a happy and safe Independence Day!
